I knew from early on that they wanted to pursue a career in teaching and academia. I've been lucky to have been taught and inspired by a number of mentors who have had a meaningful impact on my academic life. As an enthusiastic and devoted Research Associate, IÂ strive to pass on their love of learning to my own students.

Achievements and Experience
October 2020Â - Present
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
Responsible for rearing and monitoring of giant salvinia weevils (Cyrtobagous salviniae) in coastal Louisiana. Responsibilities include the rearing of weevils in open-earthen ponds located in Lafayette, LA, inoculate giant salvinia (Salvinia molesta) into the ponds, fertilization of plants, inoculation of weevils, monitoring of pond conditions, and harvest of ponds. Responsible for regular pond maintenance such as herbicide and insecticide application in and around the ponds to reduce weed and insect densities.
August 2018 - Current
GRADUATE STUDENT
Research biological control of the invasive plant, Giant Salvinia, with focusing on the plant-insect interactions in the freshwater ecosystems. Other work includes research of pollinator diversity, abundance, and health responses to legume plantings in the South-Central US.
August 2019Â - December 2019
TEACHING ASSISTANT
Teaching assistant for Dr. Nathan Lord at Louisiana State University for the course, Insects in the Environment (ENTM 2001). I created the laboratory course curriculum, assisted students with understanding insects, and assisted students with understanding the importance of insects in agriculture.
